As nothing is documented and a judge will have to rely on what you claim to have been told (not saying it is not true!) whilst at the same time being provided with evidence of weather issues and a delayed inbound, you will get nowhere. Surely this argument is BA trying to avoid responsibility for their own shoddy systems. The "but-for" cause of the OP not getting the flight was IDB - the weather several hours ago in Germany is totally irrelevant when the OP is standing at the gate with all the other pax, ready to board. BA has sold the seat to someone else, and the OP has to suffer for it. Definitely try at least!
