You can try any of the other 800 numbers. Once you put your AA# in the system you should get routed to and EXP agent. Calling the local office and asking to be transferred should work as well. Even is you have to use a non-tollfree and asking them to call you back should work too.
No, none of the AA numbers seem to work through skype (altho they used to) other than once in a while. Using a non tollfree number defeats the purpose
I have tmo so I can call for free using wifi calling if I have my phone and the signal is strong enough -BUT this is a real change b/c I used to be able to call using skype and after a lengthy chat with them got the answer that I can't reach the number on skype (altho it does work as I said once in a while - so very frustrating that I get through have a 30 minute conversation then the next 20 attempts to call the call doesn't go through at all)
The reason I prefer skype is that the signal is stronger when I use my laptop fo less chance of the call dropping in the middle as sometimes happens with tmo. And yes - I can call the 800 # of starwood, marriott, fidelity, etc on skype usually without a problem.
