UAL934 had an aircraft swap from 763 to 764 early this morning, and N76062 (flew in Giants charter from GRB at 2am) subbed for N660UA which apparently broke. sUA to sCO of course require a different cabin crew and the logistics of an aircraft swap make the delay unsurprising.
Most likely, the 764 had not yet been cleaned, or was in the process of being cleaned, when it was pressed into service to cover UA934.
FWIW, N76062 was late to pick the Giants up in GRB after a mechanical in ORD, resulting in a 3h delay for the team. Long night for the team after a forgettable performance.
^ Also somebody who was on the flight as a guest was saying he was surprised how calm the flight was. I think this is pretty much the media making up a lie.
