lived in manila for 2.5 years now, couldn't agree more.

If flying around Asia, tend to use singapore/cathay.
Europe, you can get cheap routes on the arab airlines, because of all the OFW's they're relatively cheap on the first leg (back to their hubs).

Only time you're forced to use PAL really is when flying to the US. They're the only ones who will fly direct to LAX/SFR...
