My memory's a bit foggy- so quite possibly wrong here- and I never experienced this myself; years back, before BLR got its new airport, some carriers(think LH and/or AF) used to use Le Meridien's Club as the ''lounge". Think premium Pax reported to the hotel, bags were taken care of and Pax where whisked to the airport (nearby) at the last minute for security/immigration.

The old 'international' terminal was 2 gates of the already cramped airport, that didn't have enough space for all Pax to stand at peak hours- I've been drenched waiting to get inside.
