I am going to travel a bit more this year - let's say I may do anywhere from 60,000 to 80,000 miles of flying. Also I assume I am pretty agnostic between EWR, LGA and JFK. I live in the lower west side of Manhattan, so EWR and LGA are a bit preferable I guess given traffic to JFK at peak times. Assume I have and can maintain mid level status. (Platinum/Platinum Pro on American, Gold/Platinum on delta, etc).

Soup to nuts, what's the consensus best choice for NYC fliers? Let's judge it on a variety of factors:

1) Operational performance
2) Treatment of mid-tier elites, including complementary upgrade percentage
3) Breadth of non-stop domestic route network
4) Quality of mileage program
5) Number and quality of international partners
6) Terminal / airport lounge quality

Possible airlines include Delta, United, American, JetBlue, Southwest, Alaska/Virgin
  1. Toss Up. based on time of year, location, etc.
  2. Toss up. Based on time of year, location, date, etc.
  3. Toss up. Based on departure airport.
  4. Toss for any reason you can present
  5. Meeeeeh
  6. JFK. LGA due to the roadway construction loses. But proximity to Manhattan is still a big plus.
