I think you will find that it is needs to be a separate booking (especially if the exact booking class you have is no longer available). You can however ask BA to do a TCP (to complete party) which means that they know that you are travelling together.
Thanks, they were my initial thoughts but thought I would check.
Just remembered the exiting booking is also a BA Holidays booking if that makes any difference?!
Unfortunately only SCH so no TCP available.

One with status and one without so would both select seats at time of booking and in case of IRROPS they would be kept 'together' (I think.) The route is JER -> YVR so fog is always a possibility.
