If this is a discount economy non-refundable ticket and you did not cancel the before the first flight, the ticket is worthless. If you did cancel AA will usually hold the value minus the change fee for up to a year from the cancellation date. You could keep on doing this forever, but there will be a change charge every time, anywhere frpm $100-200 or maybe even more.
