Well its all over now

but I promised I would report back.
The flight was pretty great! The massage, meal (and drinks :P) at JFK set us up for a great flight.
The food on-board was nice too and enjoyed the plentiful Fizz and particularly the port after cheese and biscuits.
I was trying to stay awake but unfortunately a long day, a few drinks (hic!) and the fact that the chair/bed was so comfy, I am afraid the inevitable happened and I dropped off and was woken with the breakfast panini which was actually lovely.
As we were an hour and a bit late we didn't have time to do a spa treatment in arrivals lounge, as we were off to Mass at 10am. But I did have a bit of breakfast and a nice shower- I was very impressed with the showers.
The only complaint about the lounge was the lack of Fizz, I was really looking forward to a Buck's Fizz/Mimosa to finish off the trip- but that is a minor detail.
Overall I am so happy we did the upgrade and really enjoyed the experience that will be remembered for a long time! I took the Club World menu as a souvenir, I hope that won't get me in trouble :P
It is my first time flying Long Haul for about 7/8 years. And obviously first time long haul in Business Class. I think we got a decent deal for what we received, I paid £2250 altogether which was for flight & hotel in Midtown for 5 nights, flying in World Traveller plus- and then later I rang during the sale last year to add the upgrade on the return section (cost of which I included in said price). So £1125 each, is pretty decent I guess... however it took a year to save up (my Mrs doesn't earn as much as me so I paid half of her share) so I don't think I will be doing anything similar again any time soon, unless a fantastic deal comes up- you never know

:P I have flown CE quite a few times as its largely affordable especially when booking flight + hotel with BA Holidays, and its good for Tier points which is how I managed to be Bronze. But CE doesn't compare at all to CW I don't think. The only real benefit on board is better food & drinks and sitting just the two of you with nobody else. Of course the major benefit is the lounge but some of the ones out in Europe are pretty grim (i.e. Faro where I was earlier this year!)
Have one more trip in March (after Spain on Thursday) before my TP collection year ends, which will see me gain Silver.
Again I doubt I would be able to retain Silver after this year, because its only thanks to all the TP's from the New York trip- but boy, I certainly plan to make the most of it for that year (and a bit)!
Thanks again everyone for the tips, and helping to make the trip even better with your advice and help !
I have deffo got the 'bizzo bug'
