There are no smartgate cards - only e-gate cards and Emirates ID cards, both of which work in the smartgate.
You can use an e-gate and Emirates ID card in the AUH smartgates.
You can't use a passport registered to the DXB smartgates in the AUH smartgates.
On departure there are only e-gates.
Some nationalities can't get an e-gate but only a smartgate. Some can't get a smartgate but can an e-gate. Different smartgates accept different passports.
