There is no way in hades if I was the employee I would jeopardize my employment w/ my employer (defense contractor, but any employer) by making guest #2 guest #1 instead so that guest #2 could get points/nights credit. Points aren't worth losing a job!!
If guest #1 is going to be staying there, guest #2 should sign up guest #1 for MR membership via the refer-a-friend program so both guest #1 & guest #2 get bonus points for the stay(s). If guest #1 decides s/he will not be staying at Marriotts in the future, s/he can always gift guest #2 w/ the points earned. That's the cleanest way to work this IMO.
