Hilton Milan had deluxe and exec rooms that were cheaper (in points) than regular rooms this summer and I've seen this at a few properties over the last year or two. It's nice to be able to get a better room at less than the standard points, especially since most times premium room awards are way overpriced. But it seems to be when the standard points rate is fairly high (50K+/night) and the cash cost is correspondingly low. Like weekends in business destinations.
Didn't know about the .4 cpp rule, Kacee, so it's nice to have a benchmark as to when this might happen.
