I'm currently sitting on the delayed 2722 to LGW. Original departure of 22:00 local time and it's now 01:30 due to weather conditions and lots of snow.

The last PA mentioned that the flight crew are close to timing out and with bags still not loaded and de-icing to be done, we may be looking at a cancellation.

Hopefully not the case, but if so I've a couple of questions:

- Would you recommend waiting for hotel accommodation to be arranged or just book something reasonable myself and claim the cost back? I'm gold in CW travelling with a friend who is silver, if that makes any difference.

- If it's best to book myself a room does anyone have any recommendations for hotels?
