We are overnighting in LAX. AA moved us from a flight at about 10.00 to another at 7.00am . I checked on AA.com and saw that there was a connection on a flight leaving at 10.45 or so. It at least allows us to get up at a civilised hour rather than 5.00am It is shown as a connection through to CDG and the agent re-booked us without any problem.
My questions are these. I know that LAX often garners delays. If we arrive in Dallas and miss the connection to CDG - what will they do with us do you think? I am not fussed about who pays for what, that's why I carry trip insurance. What I am fussed about is will American rebook us or will they say that it is our fault - even though in my view it is not as they sold us the connection. I have dealt with American and American alone for this entire itinerary (which has had three major changes so far, all of them caused by cancellations or retimings).
What are your considered opinions?
Apologies to J. Diver as my failing to mention that the connection through Dallas was the one that has me wondering - not LAX so this really does not belong here/
Of course they'll rebook you. The question is will they cover hotel and meals if you misconnect the and need one. The reason for the misconnect governs that. If it's not within the airlines control then no. If it is then yes.
