Then I bet they aren't pleased with how their booking tool is working at the moment because it's coming up with the most crazy routings you could think of. Unfortunatley not any of the routings I'd like to book but they got at least as many miles.

I just searched for tickets between HCMC and Hongkong. One of the routings that comes up is via Jakarta even though there are direct flights with VN. On another search from SE Asia to Hongkong I was offered a flight via Beijing. All at 25.000.
