Off topic, but if you completed a transaction and it went through and you had proof of sale, you were free to walk out of the store WITH your merchandise unless the manager voided the transaction and refunded you with a receipt printout. Who knows what this manager did with the card already? The person probably sent on a shopping spree already!
The cashier held on to the gift cards until the manager came over and then gave them to her. I probably could have been a little more demanding and made a scene of it but the whole point in all of this is to play dumb and not be remembered. No sense in ruining a location. I will get the money back. When I went back, she gave me a copy of the receipt, so at least I have that.
