Southwest Airlines | Rapid Rewards forum, however, in a nutshell, you must call Southwest to cancel a flight at least 10 minutes prior to departure in order to receive credit for the value of the ticket towards the purchase of another. If you don't call to cancel, you will lose what you paid for the unused ticket. There are no change fees on Southwest, but you will pay the current price for the replacement ticket.
