Instead, you're forced to take the "unlimited" data plans which have limited tethering.
Existing subscribers of the older Simple Choice plans are grandfathered in.
The "unlimited" plans start at $70 but if you want full tethering, it's supposedly more like $95.
That's a lot to pay for access to international data.
If they try to force me to "upgrade" to the "unlimited" plans when I change my phone, I'll probably bail. The unlimited international data is nice but pay $30 more a month for this BS?
Better to buy local SIMs at that point, unless they give you full-speed international roaming or at least regular promos of full-speed.
Even then, you're talking about $360-420 more a year, since "unlimited" data is pretty useless if you can't tether all of it.
They are still selling the Simple Choice plans, and they've made them easier (though not easy) to find, though they took away the special pricing plans:

Even at this price, Simple Choice 6 GB is the best, because that is basically unlimited. Music Freedom lets you stream music for free, BingeOn lets you stream video for free, and you still have tethering, plus international roaming.
Now T-mobile One rolls taxes into their advertised price, so that 2 lines for $120 really costs $120. I'm not getting it because it doesn't have tethering (and I had 2 lines at 6GB for $80 and then they had a promotion right before Thanksgiving where they gave you two free lines, so now I have 4 lines for $80).
I do NOT like T-Mobile One and I do NOT like that they messed up the pricing on Simple Choice, but I'm figuring they'll crack on the prices before too long. This new thing with rolling in the taxes, that's a real saving, and the One Plus now includes international calling (including to wireless numbers in lots of the covered countries) and so if that's something you want, the One Plus (which includes TRUE unlimited tethering) is a decent value if you get it for one line out of multiple lines.
So they have been making changes to make T-Mobile One less bad, and you CAN still get Simple Choice and they fixed their website so it is not as much of a pain to find Simple Choice as it used to be.
