IME
one travel companion can "borrow" your status. A travel companion can be on a separate PNR (but will not reflect as travel companion unless you request it). If there is more than one other than yourself on one PNR, AFAIK nobody will "borrow" your status.
A nonstatus passenger who is not the travel companion and wishes to use a SWU is in the request queue based on their native status: VIP (no number) = no status, and therefore after:
