I tend to wince when I see one of these "Restaurant owner fires back at customer who left a bad review" articles as all too often the owner is simply acting like a bigger jerk than the customer. This rebuttal was very well done, though, and accurately describes a business challenge I've admonished a few cheapskate acquaintances about. Courtesy items like water, bread, and extra seats at the table may be free on the menu but providing them to a customer certainly costs the restaurant money.
