I believe they have gotten their own Credit processing arrangement at that station rather than process Credit through the main cash register. I know of one Arco in Gardnerville, NV that takes Credit with a 3% surcharge (ouch) and you have to go inside. This is not advertised anywhere, it is just something some people know about. They process credit via a stand alone Verifone terminal (does not have EMV or NFC). It isn't so bad when you buy a drink inside for $1 and they surcharge you 3 cents... never had to show ID there though, and no signature under $25.
