I'm due to fly DFW-AUS-LHR tomorrow on an AA award booking in J, the first leg on AA and the second on BA. I'm a bit worried that the DFW-AUS leg could be vulnerable to being cancelled due to poor weather, and obviously I would prefer to be on a direct flight DFW-LHR anyway.

Is there any chance that the travel waiver would mean it would be possible to book on a direct DFW-LHR flight (which is presumably less likely to be canceled?), or will they only be prepared to reroute to avoid passing through waiver cities?
