I am planning our family's first trip to Japan and I am finding that Japanese hotels are funny about kids staying in the rooms. I have a 7 year old who is coming with us. Does anyone know the policy of this hotel regarding kids? If I book a room with 2 beds, would that be sufficient or will they still charge me extra? The most common policy is that children 12 yrs or younger can stay free of charge together with their parents when using existing bedding. However, some hotels limit the free-of-charge-age to 6 yrs or younger or even 5 yrs or younger. You should enquire at the property about their policy.
I didn't have to pay any extra charge during a recent stay at the RC Kyoto with two children aged 12 or younger.
