There was an Accor presence before, mostly in Nouméa, with :
- an Ibis (on Baie des citrons), in which I stayed in (it was much better than a European Ibis, the rooms were very large)
- a Novotel (on Anse Vata, nearby the Ibis).
but I know those hotels are not anymore in Accor.

And outside Nouméa (I don't remember if it was in Bourail or Koumac), I stayed also in an hotel which used to be a Novotel, and I knew that because the bathroom still had some Novotel branded accessories.

I remember having read some Accor press release maybe 6-8 years ago announcing the building of a new Sofitel in Nouméa - Baie des citrons, but it never materialized...

i have no idea why Accor is not completely out of this market. A pity indeed. This place is so beautiful that it would deserve some proper Accor hotels.
