Just boarded AC739 (operated by a 763), and witnessed multiple op ups (at least 3 couples) at the gate. The recipients appeared to have little or no status, as they seemed extremely surprised and thrilled (and even confused at first).
Which is amusing, because I tried to stand by from 759 to 739 on Sunday. It was J0 at T-24, and remained as such until departure.
I flew on 759.
That route is why I stopped buying Flex FPs and started buying Latitude FPs.
