Dealing with Delta Airlines and hurricane
I have been a frequent flyer for years, running my own company. On October 6th, with 3 of my associates, i was heading from Toronto to Savannah via Atlanta. On October 5th our hotel called us to cancel due to the Hurricane. Airmiles even granted a credit on our car due to the safety issues, flying into the zone. We called Delta who said they were going to cancel the 2nd portion of our trip from Atlanta to Savannah.
Delta advised calling our credit card for a refund as the friendly lady i spoke to suggested Delta wanted us to fly into Atlanta anyway (where we had no place to stay and weren't actually going on our business holiday) and we did not want to go there. We also didn't want a Credit from Delta as it was ridiculous that they were cancelling half the trip. There was a hurricane watch issued by the "National Weather Service as Dangerous and Life -Threatening Wind is Possible." Our associates received a refund, our credit card company said they were going to issue a refund but then felt it was Delta's responsibility. After months of many phone calls, emails, filling out forms, we are very frustrated with our inability to get a refund from Delta or BMO World Elite MasterCard.
I fly with many many airlines and was trying out Delta's business service both ways for the very first time. NEVER AGAIN. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Frustrated business traveller!
