Given that, I would take J on KA vs Y on MH.
MH Y is arguably better in the catering, and in the slightly better legroom, but KA is much better than MH Y and KA Y.

On another note now - baggage allowances with OWS on CX flights in general, and CX HKG - AKL in perm economy specifically - what is the deal here?? I cannot easily find out on line, have called CX customer support re my booking, and they are unsure on whether I will receive a baggage uplift as per usual OWS rules ?? They said to call back nearer the time ??!!??!!
