This doesn't sound correct. I would just book with two guests. The DSU here confirms into the 1BR Monterey Suite which connects to a parlor with pullout couch. I was able to stay with 2 children no problem. I typically check max occupancy but don't register them as guests. Breakfast was covered for 4 - no charges on checkout.
Either way, the description says max of 4 guests :
