I have another question:
Flight from EU1 (can be any airport in EU) to US operated by LH with a connection in EU2 (EU1 -> EU2 -> US). Flight from EU1 to EU2 was delayed causing to miss the connection. LH offered re-routing (and was accepted) on other flights and overnight hotel accommodation. The arrival at the final destination was 16 hours late. Does EU261 apply in this case?
