I'm the opposite. I hate when the options are Auto and Off. I like the fan running all night for white noise. They should provide all three choices.
I am the same way as well, I like the white noise aspect and it helps take care of ancillary noises from the hall or adjoining rooms.
Since we are on the themostat topic, I also don't like it when a wall thermostat or general wall room control panel emits light at night.
