CX premium economy is almost exactly the same as BA WTP on the 777-300 in terms of the seat, space, etc. Definitely an economy product, but a very good one. I suspect food is better too during the day, but I had an op-up on the outbound so I've only flown overnight when I wasn't really interested in eating.
Front row seats have a footrest built into the seat that provides support but against that, space to stretch out can be quite limited.
CX often releases J availability at the last minute, or at least in the last week before travel. MH's fees on avios can be very high so that a cash ticket might be cheaper.
Dragonair short-haul J is a very good short haul product indeed, but it's not the flat bed that you sometimes get on e.g., HKG-BKK. Still a bit better than MH short-haul J, which in turn is head and shoulders above Club Europe.
