Yeah, but they don't do short haul so that is also not a good comparison.

QR is good at 5.8 years (from memory) and EK is 74 months. Of course some airlines will have younger fleets, but the 'established' airlines that have not undergone major restructuring are all around the same average age.

United (with 30 new 787s) is still over 14 years. It is an apples v oranges debate a bit.
