Yes. I am sure I am surprised.

If you look at the comparable airlines in the list above, I am surprised that BA's fleet is not much older, especially as they still fly a lot of 747s.

I am not even sure that SAS and AZ are a fair comparison. The other airlines I left out are 'new' or went through a renewal / restructuring phase so they definitely don't compare.

Not saying BA's fleet is only spring chickens but not very extraordinary either. I was also surprised by Swiss by the way, with a 12,5 year average. I would have expected them to have a younger fleet.
