Just to add a datapoint I called the Gold line to try to get a conclusive answer, and while I didn't get anything in writing, the lady told me that she had called the BA OneWorld team and that they had confirmed that as long as the booking was all under BA Flight numbers on codeshares then the BA policy would apply even if the flight was operated by AA or IB (she mentioned them specifically as part of the JV, although she did not mention AY)
