The 'Award Availability' requires you to sign up and provide login information for various frequent flyer programs that data is scraped from. The same functionality can be achieved for free by simply using the appropriate frequent flyer program websites. Not really comparable with Award Nexus.
I'm guessing the availability information is only shown through the KVS website to mask where the data is actually coming from, as I'd presume if the data was legitimately paid for it could be integrated into the KVS browser/tool.
I am guessing that the availability through "mobile companion"
might be legal... That's why there is a monthly limit on the number of queries one can do (
