Some locations will distinguish an L from an L4. They are separately bookable, and the L4 does cost more. Others, in my experience don't seem to make the distinction. I have no experience of SNA to know which they will do.
Of more concern is that they have also a whole load of 2WD versions of the same cars, in Group K6, and Hertz seem quite happy to allocate these against an L reservation. If AWD is essential, suggest you call up and get a note put on the reservation saying that you explicitly need AWD.
As to what you could get, see the list in the main stickied thread. There are examples of most of the cars on that list on fleet at present.
