96 hours before the Sin-Syd flight, the seat map will open up. Only the front of cabin seats and the pair seats remain blocked for status members but you should be able to sit together. Just have to time it correct (time difference also).
if you use expertflyer (basic is free), you can create a seat alert and check how many seats are currently blocked for that particular flight. Minus the first 4-5 rows at the front of cabin you'll be able to guess what may be available to you.
This also applied for your existing seats too, 96 hours to departure you can select different seats to what you currently have if you prefer.
