After the child turns 2, they must have a seat of their own.

Once you have been ticketed and confirmed, I would phone all the airlines to at least get a seat "reserved" as I'm not sure if it's a full flight how they'll handle this situation. As I said in my previous post, get to the airport in good time to allow for the ticketing people sort out the seat proper.

I advise you to be proactive with the airlines in advance rather than wait until getting to the airport. Let us know how you get on.
