For anyone checking out on the 2nd , could you please post whether your online account says that you are 24 stays and 49 nights from obtaining or renewing platinum ? (I imagine that in most time zones we are a good 24 hours from such updating)

I suspect the programs will continue to run as they have been until the new program (MPG) is defined and ready to put in place. It appears they have taken steps to try to keep people around and even using the other brands by allowing points to move back and forth. They are not likely to announce anything that would jeopardize future business. This merger would be a good time for them to reduce the ongoing liability the program presents but hopefully they won't chop off a chunk of business while doing it.
