But I don't know the route EK will take you coming from DXB and which side-left or right will be the best, assuming you arrive during the day? If after dark, it likely does not matter.
Hey, I'm from Cape Town + a private pilot, the right side will provide best views for 80% of flights, while the left side will never provide a view of Table Mountain.
Prevailing winds generally mean runway 19 is in use, which if flying the ILS approach provides pretty nice views, though in my experience EK flies a visual approach which means you only see a corner of Table Mountain as the aircraft turns on to final. If the wind means the opposite runway (01) is in use, there is no view of Table Mountain, however the aircraft will fly out over the ocean at False Bay and make a 180-degree turn to the right to line up with the runway, so again the right in my opinion has better views, however once lined up with the runway Devils Peak would be visible from the left which can also be quite stunning.
In my opinion a K seat is always a winner into CPT.
