What I've noticed around here (for inside):

  • Mobil stations with iSC250s: EMV enabled
  • Mobil stations with MX860s: EMV not enabled
  • 76 stations with iSC250s: EMV enabled
  • 76 stations with MX860s: EMV not enabled
  • Chevrons w/iSC250: EMV not enabled, contactless enabled
  • Chevrons with MX860s: no EMV slot, contactless enabled

Chevron might be waiting for EMV contactless capable software before enabling EMV at iSC250 stations, while the other two brands with iSC250s seem to have EMV enabled already. The other two brands coincidentally also don't have contactless readers even at the MX860 stations. Of course, this makes it difficult to determine when to mass add them since there could be other terminal/POS permutations as well.

On the other hand, it might mean that the branded gas stations will all get EMV at the pump near-simultaneously. Which will be nice.

Speaking of unattended use, has anyone tried one of those Best Buy kiosks they have at airports? They look like they're potentially EMV enabled and may be a good way to test backup PIN support.
