I've encountered what sounds like the same issue as you. I was trying to load at family dollar and the register was reporting "Invalid Merchant". Never had an issue before. This was about 10 days ago so I checked the strip on my card and it was pretty worn. Thought that might be the issue so I called Customer Support and asked for a new card. Received the new one today and I'm still getting an invalid merchant error. Its possible that they just aren't even emailing people they've shut down anymore.
