Flying out of EWR means I can get anywhere I need to go, with very few connections. That means less travel time, which means more family time.
For me, this is the right place to live. Couldn't imagine being anywhere else.

I'm in Burlington county. My property tax is $7464, the assessed value of my townhouse is $203500 so 3.66%. Maybe I'm not calculating it correctly. I guess I had assumed moving up close to NYC would be more expensive so I never considered it at all, but you're right, there are always cheaper neighborhoods. Something to consider

SMF area is intriguing as mentioned but traffic to SFO can be a mess down 80 - though train to Lyft is an option.
Frederick / NW Maryland is an hour from both Dulles and BWI with no city center to cross through on the way to Dulles. No idea on cost of living but guessing reasonable and Dulles is prob the best airport to balance access to Europe and Asia plus so many flag carriers.
TPA / MCO a value flier dream but tougher for saving time on intl.
I insist on drivable (an hour or so) to a hub and convenient drive (30min or so) to a UA airport with tcons. If I'm within 30min of HUB that's ok too.
I wouldn't need ask if I was just limiting to HUBs, I know where they are. And like many say HUB cities are typically HUB cost of living. My "compromise" is living a little further away where COL may be lower but I have to take a one stop trip vs a non-stop but not so far out of the UA network that I can't get to the far hubs and limit my options. Like I live near PHL where I believe is cheaper and can get to PHL in half an hour or so, but can get to EWR for those intl trips.
