Is there some rational reason this would bother you?

> Registering to vote and voting many times demand ID, very frequently a drivers license and frequently they won't take much else you're likely to have. And the people drooling over your licence aren't even permanent employees, just people off the street for a 12 hour shift.
> Your employer may want all kinds of ID and any ol' random employee may get to see it.
> Of course, there's always buying alcohol, cigarettes, marijuana, prescriptions, getting student or senior discounts, buying AMTRAK tickets, picking up Greyhound tickets, taking the SAT or GRE, returning things to Victoria's Secret, and God forbid you should try paying at a retail store with a check.

The thing is all but a public record.

Worrying about DLs is a little like worrying someone will see your grocery purchases. Sorry, it's out there.
