I just purchased a return LHR-LPA flight through BA.com site: out flight in business and return flight in economy. The flights are with Iberia Express.

Seats for the out flight (in business) are to be assigned at check-in, i.e. no way to pick a seat at all.
Seats for the return flight (in economy) are are available, but for a fee.

I'm a little surprised to see that our Gold BAEC perks are not extended to Iberia considering that, essentially, these are parts of the same company/programme.

Did anyone else have the same experience or am I doing something wrong?

PS. Apologies, if it has been discussed or covered elsewhere in the forum. My quick search has not resulted in any information.
