I probably would have done the same. But everyone handles the possibility of confrontation differently.
Also, I am a white man, so I'd be a lot less concerned about being inadvertently or inappropriately shot by a white police officer in rural MS who might have felt "threatened" had I been black and young. Don't even want to consider if someone dared to wear a hoodie.
