All of the digital thermostats (even the old ones attached to the window unit) have a test mode that can be activated to keep the A/C on constantly and disable the motion/light sensors. Usually its a combination of power/temp up or down buttons. I usually google the manual for the particular thermostat and usually get good results. One time the front desk even gave me the information. These things are terrible if you like a really cold room like I do.
