So even though EW is now VIE based and LH operates EW flights out of VIE they haven't adapted their lounge access policy accordingly?



If the companion travels on the same flight of the companion, then access is denied to the companion.


That sentence in itself perfectly portrays the ridiculously opaque lounge policy that requires LH passengers (sic!, in particular if tickets were booked through the LH website on routes where there is no LH Group alternative to EW or 4U) to waste precious time in order to understand what product they may have bought. Consistency? Not!
