Another thing to be aware of is Peak/Non-Peak, the Avios redemptions in Peak are 150% of those in Non-Peak. So if you've been quoted for Peak and you could travel non-peak you could save a third of your Avios or travel nearer the front.

Thanks for this reply. I thought the MAN-LHR was now additional but I have checked again and that is now only the case on Reward Savers to Europe. I hear what you say about peak/non-peak but unfortunately school summers holidays are all peak to these destinations and that is when we want to travel
