You lucked out and I am glad for you, but all should be aware that you are not guaranteed such treatment under Hilton's rules -- not necessarily honoring status, etc.
Whether this was a fluke or is policy at this hotel, and whether this is only for Diamonds, or Golds, as well, remains an open question.
However, what is not open to dispute, at least right now, is that one would be nuts to redeem their hard earned HHonors points, at 40,000 points/night, if one can pick up any room in the Riverside Hilton during JazzFest for the rock bottom price of under $60/night.
That is why I find it so hard to get rid of my points!! I hate to have them valued at less than 00.002 per point!
